Classes for Martial Artists of all ages
Arnott Kenpo Karate of Pasadena offers practical self-defense for men, women, teens and children, ages 4 and up. Our goal is to provide our members with classes that are challenging while maintaining a relatively safe environment.
Each of the group classes is taught differently. The Mighty Tigers are always supervised as they are taught foundational basics. The Kid's classes are run so that the kids are learning a martial art, and are shown how to create their own path to achieve a goal. The Adult class is run with the individual in mind, warming up together, then breaking into partner and small group activities. Controlled light and fast sparring is part of both the Kid's and Adult classes.
American Kenpo Karate is an art designed to be fast and effective, to finish a fight on your feet (as opposed to going to ground as with the grappling arts), and to deal with multiple attackers. You will train progressively, learning small moves that compound into more complex moves. You will practice getting faster at these and find that you have choices in dangerous situations.
Arnott Kenpo Karate is based on respect. Respect is the core of our dojo.
Training for your Black Belt can create significant changes in your life. Your muscles will ache, you will get bruised, and you will be stretched out. You'll get stronger and you'll move better. And you'll make new friends.
Any studio you check out should offer an inexpensive, no-pressure way to try out their facility and staff for a few weeks or a month to see if the place fits. Here you can get a private lesson, a month of group lessons, and a free uniform for $99. Or you can just try a group class (with a guest uniform) or a free private lesson – different ways to take a look and learn something on the way. We have no wish to sell you a long term contract - we want the people who want to study with us. People come to martial arts for many reasons- for safety, fitness, for the art, for the community. We hope you will find your place here.
